Ashique Kuruniyan makes a return to Indian squad as new coach Igor Stimac picks a list of 34 probables for the upcoming World Cup qualifiers. Sunil Chhetri-led India will face-off against Asian champions Qatar, Oman, Afghanistan and Bangladesh in Group E for their World Cup Qualifiers draw.

On Monday, the newly appointed Indian football team coach Igor Stimac named a list of 34 probables for a training camp ahead of the 2022 Fifa World Cup Qualifier which will be played against Oman.

The Blue Tigers were handed a relatively difficult draw for the second round of the World Cup qualifiers, where they were placed with 2019 AFC champions Qatar along with Oman, Afghanistan and Bangladesh in Group E.

Sunil Chhetri & Co. will open their Asian qualifying campaign against Oman at the Indira Gandhi Athletic Stadium in Guwahati on September 5. On September 10, the Indian boys will travel to play their toughest match in the qualifiers, against Asian champions Qatar. All the teams in each group will play home-and-away matches which starts from September 5 onwards. 

The eight group winners and four best runners-up will advance to the final round of the 2022 World Cup qualifiers and the 2023 AFC Asian Cup Finals.
