Reports | Ivan Perisic set to sign for Bayern Munich
Inter Milan winger Ivan Perisic is set to sign for Bayern Munich after passing his medical at the club’s training ground. Perisic was spotted in Munich on Monday with him on the verge of completing a move, effectively ending his four-year tenure with Inter, having joined them from Wolfsburg.
“I’ve just had my medical. I’ll do my best!” Ivan Perisic told German news outlet Bild. The Croatian winger has been heavily linked with a move out of the San Siro, but his destination was unknown until now. Bayern Munich on the other hand, have been quite desperate to get their hands on new wingers after losing two of their most influential players in Frank Ribery and Arjen Robben.
With Leroy Sane’s transfer put on hold after the German got injured in the Community Shield, the Bavarians knew they had to move much faster for their next target or face losing out once again. This saw them get a deal done for Perisic within less than a week of the rumour emerging, with the Bundesliga champions signing the Croatian on a £4.6million loan deal.
That does come with an £18.5m option to buy next summer, with the 30-year-old earning somewhere close to £100,000 a week. The Croatian star is not devoid of any experience and has previously plied his trade in the German top division as well, playing for Borussia Dortmund and Wolfsburg.
This would make Bayern his third Bundesliga club, with Perisic leaving the Nerazzurri after spending four successful years at the club, contributing to 77 goals in 163 appearances.
