Manchester United star Alexis Sanchez is reportedly refusing to leave Old Trafford this summer, amid links with a move to Serie A. The Chilean striker has struggled tremendously since his move from Arsenal, and that combined with his wages has caused more than a few problems for the Red Devils.

With Ole Gunnar Solskjaer trying to rebuild Manchester United in his vision, the Norwegian has decided that Alexis Sanchez has no place in the new team. The 30-year-old has struggled to make any sort of an impact since his move from Arsenal in January of 2018. The two clubs swapped Henrikh Mkhitaryan and the Chilean, with both players failing to do well.

However, Manchester United’s biggest issue with the Chilean is the fact that his wage bill is burdening the rest of the club. This combined with his performances have seen Sanchez put on the transfer list, and while there is interest from the Serie A, the Sun reports that he will not leave.

The report adds that the 30-year-old attacker is a top target for AS Roma, with the club eyeing a loan move, but Sanchez is dragging his heels over a move. Sun further adds that the Chilean is risking getting banned from the Manchester United first-team squad if he should stay.

Solskjaer has reportedly already told the team that Marcus Rashford, Anthony Martial and Mason Greenwood will be given more chances, over Sanchez. Roma, on the other hand, have changed their stance on the former Arsenal man and have turned towards Michy Batshuayi as their second option.
