Arsenal have entered the race for Juventus star Daniele Rugani with the Gunners looking to add reinforcements before the August 8 deadline. The North London side was interested in a move last season but no move occurred and the arrival of Matthijs de Ligt gives Arsenal a chance to make a move.

With the Mirror reporting that Arsenal only have a €40 million budget a few months before the summer window started, many predicted that the Gunners would be in trouble. However, with less than 12 days left for the window, Arsenal have already brought in William Saliba and Dani Ceballos, with a stunning move for Nicolas Pepe also on the books.

But, with Laurent Koscienly on strike and Rob Holding still out injured, it doesn’t leave Arsenal with too many options. That has seen manager Unai Emery hinting at a new center-back arrival and the Mirror (h/t Corriere Torino) has reported that Arsenal are keen on a move for Daniele Rugani.

The Gunners were linked heavily last season with a move for the Italian, but nothing ever materialized. Instead, the 25-year-old signed a new deal but now the arrival of Matthijs de Ligt changes Rugani’s status in Turin.

It allows Arsenal to make a move but given that Juventus value the Italian center-back at €40 million, it makes a permanent deal unlikely. Instead, the North London side will have to opt for another loan move, with a potential option to make things permanent.
