Reports | Real Betis waiting for a better offer for Giovani Lo Celso
One of the main sagas this summer has been the battle between Tottenham Hotspur and Real Betis for Giovanni Lo Celso. With August 8th on it's way, an agreement needs to be reached soon with both sides looking to improve their respective clubs, but it’s Betis who are waiting for the right offer.
Real Betis’ asking price for the Giovani Lo Celso has been a wall that Tottenham hasn't been able to over the past month. The Los Verdiblancos demands haven't been met yet by the North London team and it may very well take some more time to be concluded, according to Sport Witness.
Betis are holding out for €75 million, with Tottenham not coming close to that figure, as their president Daniel Levy is only willing to go as high as €50 million. There is a strong belief in England that a deal won't be made because of Levy's stubbornness.
Newspapers in Spain trust that the Sevilla-based team need to make a profit with their most valuable assets, in order to acquire funds and subsequently fund their league aspirations. Reports further add that Real Betis are expecting a stronger bid in the next few days with Tottenham still very keen on a move.
Personal agreements have already been done, with Tottenham and the 23-year-old coming to an agreement over his contract, and all that remains is an understanding from teams in question.
