Spain’s Josep Ferre appointed as assistant coach of East Bengal
Spanish coach Josep Ferre has been appointed as the assistant coach of East Bengal ahead of the 2019-20 season of the Indian domestic football. The Kolkata-based club had earlier extended the contract for two years for their chief coach Alejandro Menendez ahead of the upcoming season.
Josep Ferre will be assisting the East Bengal coach Alejandro Menendez from 2019 for a couple of years after the 35-year-old Spaniard signed a contract. He is a UEFA ‘A’ license holder and has a degree in sports science and is also an expert video analyst.

The team from the City of Joy have roped in Pintu Mahata from Mohun Bagan, Naorem Singh from NEROCA FC and Boithang Haokip from the ISL winners Bengaluru FC. The historical Bengal side have lost out on Jobby Justin who will play for ISL team ATK but renewed the contract with Jaime Santos Colado.
