Mumbai City FC has announced the signing of Brazilian winger Diego Carlos and Indian defender Sarthak Golui on its Twitter handle ahead of the sixth edition of the Indian Super League. The duo was a part of the other team from Maharashtra – FC Pune City – in the football league before.

Like all other teams in Indian club football, Mumbai City FC have also started the preparations for the upcoming season of the Indian Super League. As a part of its strategy to strengthen the wings and the defence, the team from Maharashtra’s capital city have brought in Diego Carlos and Sarthak Golui for the sixth edition of the league. The club has made an official announcement regarding this on its Twitter handle on Wednesday.

“We're delighted to confirm the double signing of Brazilian attacker Diego Carlos and defender Sarthak Golui from FC Pune City,” Mumbai City FC wrote on Twitter.

Brazilian footballer Carlos had scored a couple of goals for FC Pune City in the fourth season in 2017-18 while he was suspended in the previous season for three games. The winger was also charged a fine of Rs two lakhs for indiscipline behaviour.

The Islanders are yet to win the league and had qualified for the semi-finals of the last edition of the league but lost to FC Goa. Earlier this month, they had announced the signing of Croatia’s Mato Grgic.
