FC Goa gaffer Sergio Lobera has hailed his players for their performances and hopes to show his team's strength ahead of their home game against Jamshedpur at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Goa on Tuesday. The Spanish head coach also admitted Jamshedpur FC has a strong side to face.

Unbeaten FC Goa will host Jamshedpur FC at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Goa on Tuesday. The Gaurs are third on the table with eight points and are coming after a commanding win over Mumbai City in Mumbai. FC Goa head coach Sergio Lobera, who is in his third year in India, hopes the game against Jamshedpur FC is an opportunity for them to show their quality as a team. However, The Gaurs have lost Seiminlen Doungel and Hugo Boumous to suspensions.

“I think we are a strong team. The game against Jamshedpur is an opportunity for us to show our quality as a team. It is difficult for us, but we are building a strong and confident team. Both teams have had a long break. We tried to work and are prepared for the upcoming clash,” Lobera said at the pre-match press conference, ISL website reported.

Jamshedpur FC are fifth on the table with seven points and in their last match, they lost to ATK 3-1. However, Sergio Lobera admitted that Jamshedpur FC are a strong side and agreed it will be a difficult game.

“Jamshedpur is a very strong team. They are a very good set of players. I think they have a very good balance and that makes a difference. It’s going to be a very difficult match for us. We need to work very well and play in our style. We need to play well and score goals. We need this. But I think against Jamshedpur the situation will be different, but we should get at least one point. The future is difficult. Everything else is in the past and we need to work to achieve things in the future now,” the 42-year-old said.

Sergio Lobera hailed his players for their performance in the league with the Spanish gaffer particularly stressing about his team's thumping win against Mumbai City.

“I am very happy with my players. Every match is a different situation. We are unbeaten so far and it is difficult to maintain such a record for four matches. I am very happy with the game against Chennaiyin. In NorthEast, it was different because I felt we lost two points. The best match was against Mumbai where we scored a lot of goals and got the three points against a very good team,” Lobera said.

Sergio Lobera was accompanied by Edu Bedia, who missed the start of the season with an injury. However, the midfielder returned to the side against Mumbai and shared his thoughts on the same.

“I will play whenever the time comes. All the time I have been out it hasn’t been a problem because we have a big squad which has a lot of quality. The sooner you forget about injuries, the faster you can recover. Now that I am fit, it is time for the coach to decide whether I play or not,” he said.
