Donāt need to prove myself to anybody, says Danny Rose
Tottenham full-back Danny Rose has revealed that while he doesnāt have to prove himself to anyone, he is more than willing to stay and fight for his place at Spurs. The 29-year-old was placed on the transfer list this summer, but eventually decided to stay despite interests from PSG and Schalke.

Despite being listed during the summer window by Tottenham, Danny Rose eventually ended up staying at the club. The 29-year-old was considering his options especially after the arrival of Ryan Sessegnon but he opted to stay at the club and has seen his fortunes change. Heās become one of few players to start all four Premier League games for the North London side and has even established himself as a key England player.
There were rumors that Leicester City star Ben Chilwell would take over Roseās left-back spot for the national team, but the 29-year-old has done well to stay in Gareth Southgateās plans. Now in an interview with the Mirror, Rose has gone on to reveal that he has no plans of quitting Tottenham any-time soon, even adding that he has nothing to prove to anybody.
āI donāt need to prove myself to anybody. I have a manager at club level who knows me. You look at last season - I played in the quarter-final of the Champions League, I played in the semi-finals of Champions League, I played in the final. So Iāve got a manager there who believes in me. Then if you look at international Iāve got a manager that whenever Iāve been available for selection Iāve been chosen. He fully believes in me and Iām very grateful,ā said Rose to Mirror.
"I donāt feel Iāve got anything to prove to anybody and I feel as if Iāve done enough over the years to prove my worth. I obviously just want to repay everybody thatās shown faith in me and itās been a great start to the campaign and Iām looking forward to whatās ahead. I guess I should be happy with maybe being up for sale and having started the first four games forĀ TottenhamĀ and the first England game of the campaign. Itās not about regular first-team football.
āI know my age and I know how the clubās run. It wasnāt tough, it is what it is. Everything that was publicised in the summer was not entirely true and I think in the future I will have my say on everything that happened but I donāt want to focus on negativity at the minute. I canāt lie, I am very happy, but I just want to say that everything that was written in the summer wasnāt entirely true,ā concluded Rose.
