While Liverpool are dominating the Premier League, their squad is still missing one key star but it looks like Alisson might be back very soon. The Brazilian, who has missed nearly two months of action, has admitted that he’s in his final stages of recovery and will be ready to start soon.

Liverpool may still have the only winning start to their season in English football, but they’ve somehow managed to do it without their first-team goalkeeper. Adrian, who joined the club in the summer, has stepped in and done relatively well, but while the Spaniard has proven to be a rather astute shot-stopper, he is not Alisson Becker. The newly-crowned BEST FIFA Men’s Goalkeeper has been sidelined for nearly seven weeks thanks to a calf problem he suffered on the opening day of the season.

But having being sidelined for nearly seven weeks, it has allowed Alisson time to rest, improve and even check out the competition, which is exactly what he has been doing. In an interview, with Liverpoolfc.com, the Brazilian reveals that he believes that Adrian deserves his place in the team, going on to admit that having the Spaniard has given him a peace of mind.

“Adrian’s a special guy who came late in the season, he just came and shows everyone his value, not just as a player but as a person and that is the more important thing. He is doing very well on the pitch. I have peace to recover in a proper way so it’s better for everyone,” Alisson told Liverpoolfc.com.

The 26-year-old has been sidelined for nearly seven weeks with an injury to his calf, after slipping in the first half of the first game of the season against Norwich City. It saw Adrian make his debut for the club and Alisson hasn’t featured for Liverpool since then. But it does seem that it might happen soon, with as Becker went on to add that he’s nearly fully fit.

“I’m on a good way, I think we are nearly there. I can go outside to the pitch to do some goalkeeper work and I feel very well. I feel confident and I think now it’s just about getting all my power, all my confidence to come back and do what I love to do. It’s massive because if I look back, two weeks ago I couldn’t even walk properly. Now I’m running, jumping on my right leg that was injured so I’m really happy for that,” concluded the Brazilian.
