Indian winger Jakichand Singh has signed for Jamshedpur FC ahead of the new season of the Indian Super League, from FC Goa. This is the second major signing for Jamshedpur FC after roping in Irish head coach Owen Coyle, who guided Chennaiyin FC to the final of the ISL last year in dramatic fashion.

FC Goa played exceptional football in the last season of the Indian Super League (ISL) and finished at the pole position in the points table, thus qualifying for the AFC Champions League even after sacking their head coach Sergio Lobera mid-season. But, the mid-season transfer window saw a majority of their core players, including Ahmed Jahouh, Mandar Rao Desai, and Mourtada Fall, re-uniting with their former boss at Mumbai City FC. As per the recent development, their winger Jakichand Singh has also fled for greener pastures and signed for Jamshedpur FC ahead of the new season for a three-year deal.

“Playing for Jamshedpur FC is a fantastic opportunity for me. Jamshedpur is one club in India that has everything a player needs, and the entire country knows how passionate and vocal the people of Jharkhand are for football. I am convinced with the philosophy and the path Jamshedpur FC are following and hope to contribute with my heart and soul to help the club achieve much-deserved success. Of course, I look forward to achieving this under the robust leadership of Owen Coyle,” stated Jakichand Singh after putting pen on paper, as reported by Jamshedpur FC’s official website.

The Red Miners have already enforced considerable changes in their roster after a disappointing campaign last season. Foremost, they’ve roped in Irish manager Owen Coyle, who guided Chennaiyin FC to the final of the ISL last season. Adding Jakichand to their ranks will bolster their attacking line-up and Owen Coyle is pretty excited about having the services of the speedy winger in his squad.

“Mesmerizing – one word to perfectly describe Jacki. He is a highly rated and talented winger who was wanted by many teams in the ISL. Signing a top-class winger has been one of our key objectives, and I’m delighted he’s joining. He will add pace, power, and creativity, with the aim of bringing more goals to our team,” said Owen Coyle, head coach of Jamshedpur FC.
