Raheem Sterling failed to deliver his best performance in the recent Carabao Cup match between Arsenal and Crystal Palace. Yet, Arsenal was able to score three goals in the game, which was possible due to the hat-trick of Gabriel Jesus, which led the team to victory.
This win over Crystal Palace by 3-2 helped them to reach the semi-finals of the tournament. The team's manager, Mikel Arteta made a massive total of 8 changes to the team's playing 11, and Raheem Sterling was also included in the line-up. He started as the right wing in the game and was also able to perform well in the first half.
But, he got a free-kick opportunity to help Arsenal get the upper hand which he missed. Crystal Palace’s goalkeeper Dean Henderson was able to tip the ball over the goal post. This led to Arsenal going to the break with a deficit of 1-0. However, Gabriel Jesus helped the team to make a comeback, as he did a hat-trick in the second half.
Along with him, Martin Odegaard was also able to showcase impressive performances, as Raheem Sterling again failed to score. It was also seen that the team's manager, Arteta, was shouting at Sterling, giving him instructions for the game. This might even lead to Sterling being dropped from the starting line-up for Arsenal's upcoming games.
