As the FIFA Club World Cup dream ended for Bayern Munich, Harry Kane expressed deep disappointment over the teamâs 2-0 quarter-final defeat to Paris Saint-Germain. The England striker admitted feeling âguttedâ after Bayern were eliminated in the United States, with Kaneâs midfield turnover directly leading to PSGâs opening goal from Desire Doue.
Despite Bayernâs efforts, Kane also had a goal ruled out for offside, and PSG, even after being reduced to nine men, sealed the win in stoppage time through substitute Ousmane Dembele. The loss ends Bayernâs hopes of adding another international title to their cabinet after Kane had helped them clinch the Bundesliga crown in the 2024â25 season, ending his long-standing trophy drought.
Adding to Bayernâs woes, rising star Jamal Musiala suffered a serious ankle break following a challenge with PSG goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma. Kane took to Instagram to offer support to his teammate, writing, âWeâre with you every step of the way.â Looking ahead, Bayern will play a series of friendlies, including one against Kaneâs former club Tottenham, before kicking off their 2025-26 campaign with a Super Cup clash against Stuttgart on August 16. Musiala is expected to be sidelined for several months.
