Cristiano Ronaldo Shares an Injury Update Ahead of World Cup 2026.

For the Portugal national team, Cristiano Ronaldo has provided a timely boost ahead of the FIFA World Cup 2026 by sharing a positive update on his recovery from injury. The 41-year-old forward had suffered a hamstring issue in late February while playing for Al Nassr, which ruled him out of Portugal’s March friendlies against Mexico and the United States. Head coach Roberto Martinez clarified that Ronaldo’s absence was purely precautionary, aimed at preventing any long-term complications.

Ronaldo recently posted images of himself training, indicating that his recovery is progressing well and easing concerns among fans about his fitness. Portugal are scheduled to face Mexico on March 28 at the Azteca Stadium and the United States on March 31 in Atlanta, but the management has chosen to prioritise player fitness over these short-term matches. Bernardo Silva is also among those rested as part of workload management.

Reports suggest Ronaldo is expected to return within a few weeks, putting him on track to be fully fit before the World Cup begins in June. Portugal will start their campaign on June 17 in Houston. Ronaldo is aiming to make history with a record sixth World Cup appearance, while still chasing the only major trophy missing from his illustrious career.
