Bengal Warriors coach BC Ramesh has stated that even though they were in the lead for most of the match, they made errors in last 30-40 seconds and couldn’t carry the same momentum. After the 27-25 defeat to Jaipur Pink Panthers, he also talked about the performance of their raiding unit as a whole.

Bengal Warriors had won their first match with a big point difference of 31, so their confidence level was high coming into this match and they started out that way as well. Bengal was in the lead for most of the match and managed to stop Jaipur’s raiders from gaining the upper hand. Baldev Singh scored six tackle points and was phenomenal on the mat.

Warriors let Panthers come from behind in the closing seconds of the match and seal the game. Bengal was in the lead until the tackle by Sandeep Dhull helped Panthers inflict an all-out and gain a two-point lead as well.

“We made some technical and strategic errors in the last 30-40 seconds which cost us the match. The rest of the match pretty much went our way,” Bengal coach BC Ramesh said in the post-match press conference.

The raiding unit of Bengal played well even though no one got a super 10. Maninder Singh scored six points while K.Prapanjan scored seven. They helped Warriors maintain the lead for most of the match on Saturday.

“Our raiding unit is performing very well. Today Mohammad Nabibakhsh wasn’t able to do well but K. Prapanjan did an outstanding job,” the coach explained.

“The team performed well for most of the match, but we weren’t able to keep the same momentum in the closing seconds."
