After their win against Haryana, Bengal Warriors coach BC Ramesh has said that the team's performance is brilliant because they are in-sync with each other and are bonding well too. The win helped Bengal remain at the second position and cross the 60-point mark on the points table.

Bengal Warriors won their match against Haryana Steleers with a scoreline of 48-36 and with this win they crossed the 60-point mark. Now, they also have the highest point difference in the league. Bengal worked with precision in both raiding and defence and started well against Haryana Steelers last evening which helped them inflict two all-outs in the first half itself and gain a healthy lead. By the time the first half ended, they were ahead by 16 points and Haryana seemed lost without their captain.

“Our team’s coordination and bonding, between the raiders and the defenders, is going very well. Everyone is playing well. And looks like we are set for more competitive matches going forward,” coach BC Ramesh said in the post-match press conference.

Maninder Singh led from the front as he scored 18 points in 19 raid attempts with getting out twice in the whole match. He took advantage of the young defence who was missing the experience of Dharmaraj Cheralathan on the mat. Supporting Maninder was K.Prapanjan who was not in the best of form but still managed to score seven points while getting ousted three times.

“We had two groups earlier in the league, now we have only one. If you finish in the top two, you get to play directly in the semi-final. So our intention is to finish in the top two as that has good advantages. Whether we do this by playing seniors or resting them will depend on their moves on the mat, their body language and the players will be changed accordingly. Every match will have a different plan,” the Bengal coach explained.

Bengal Warriors were able to inflict three all-outs, two in the first half and third in the starting of the second because of which Haryana were unable to come back in the game. Baldev Singh was the star in the Bengal defence as he finished the match with six tackle points.

“Baldev offers a solid defence. His game and skill are top notch. He has the speed and is bold with his moves as well. He gives it all in every match. His quality is improving steadily, compared to his performance from last season. I am very happy with him,” coach Ramesh concluded.
