Sanjay Manjrekar takes a sarcastic dig at Sreesanth's ban lift
Sanjay Manjrekar took a dig at Sreesanth's ban overturned by the Kerala high court suggesting the Board of Control for Cricket in India put up a strong case against the lifting of ban indirectly via a tweet. However, Manjrekar faced a strong backlash for his comment from the Indian fans.
The Kerala high court overturned BCCI's decision of lifetime ban on S Sreesanth who had been found guilty of spot-fixing during an IPL match in 2013. The court found the evidence inconclusive and gave a decision against the Indian board.
The BCCI had offered Sreesanth's confession and an audio recording of a conversation between Sreesanth’s friend Jiju Janardhanan and a bookie as evidence of the Kerala cricketer's participation in fixing. However, the court overturned the decision after suggesting that the confession was forced out of him and the recording did not indicate the 34-year old's participation in fixing.
Sanjay Manjrekar, the former Indian cricketer, and current commentator expressed his difference of opinion via his tweet on Tuesday suggesting that the BCCI would indeed have provisions to challenge the lift of the ban.
Manjrekar tweeted:
If BCCI had a strong case to ban cricketers for match fixing, surely they must have a strong case to challenge the lifting of bans.

However, the tweet did not go down well with the Indian fans who came out in support of Sreesanth and backed his inclusion in cricket.
