WATCH: Umpires stop T20 to check Malinga' s pockets
During the 17th over of the Australian innings in the First T20I, umpire Mick Mattell stopped the play and asked Lasith Malinga to show what he had inside his pockets. It turned out, Maling had a hand warmer, and had kept placing his hand in the pocket, just to keep it warm before bowling.
In a strange incident during the first T20 match between Australia and Sri Lanka on Friday, umpires stopped play momentarily to check the pockets of Sri Lanka pacer Lasith Malinga.
During the 17th over of the Australian innings, the speedster was getting back to his walking mark, when umpire Mick Mattlee approached him and asked him what was inside his pocket. After every previous ball, Malinga had kept placing his hand in his pocket. Malinga took out the hand warmer he had in his pocket and showed it to the umpire.
