Indian women's team wicketkeeper Sushma Verma has stunned everyone by pulling off five brilliant stumpings in the ongoing Women's World Cup. The 24-year old stunned three Windies batters before dismissing two Sri Lankans yesterday to help India maintain their unbeaten record in the tournament.

Sushma Verma has played a pivotal role in India's consistent performance in the Women's World Cup contributing with both the bat and with her lightening quick moves behind the stumps. Verma's reflexes have earned her 5 stumpings in the tournament so far which is two more than the combined three wickets of other wicketkeepers in the tournament.

Verma's first victim in the tournament was Merissa Augilliera, the Windies wicketkeeper, who was no match for the Indian wicketkeeper's reflexes. Her quick glovework forced Felicia Walters to depart for 12 followed by Shanel Daley as India restricted the Windies to a paltry 183 and chased down the target with 7 wickets to spare.

If those were not enough to get the moniker, the 24-year old got the better of Sri Lankan opener Nipun Hansika in the team's fourth game when she looked set at 29 yesterday and caught her inches short of the crease. Dilan Manodara followed the footsteps of her compatriot and was dismissed for 61 by another exceptional stumping from Verma which sealed the fate of the game for Sri Lanka who eventually ended up 16 runs short of the target as India registered their fourth win in the tournament from as many games.
