Former Indian head coach Anil Kumble reportedly was in favour of 10-month contracts for the support staff as well as the coaches as that would have allowed them to earn from IPL like the players. Kumble also suggested that the head coach be given 60 percent of the captain's estimated earnings.
According to reports by PTI, former Indian head coach Anil Kumble actually proposed a 10-month contract for support staff and coaches under his 19-page proposal on restructuring of contracts entitled 'Restructuring of Remuneration And Contracts of Personnel Of The Indian Cricket Team'.
Former CoA member Ramchandra Guha mentioned the conflict of interest norm that was caused by coaches participating in the Indian Premier League in a letter to CoA chief Vinod Rai. The former leg-spinner had further suggested a hike in his salary from Rs 6.5cr to Rs 7.5cr along with hikes in salaries of Sanjay Bangar and R Shridhar to Rs 2.25cr and Rs 1.75cr from the original 1cr respectively. In the remarks column, Kumble indicated that his earnings would increase with respect to Indian skipper Virat Kohli's.
