This isn’t the first time that Kanpur has seen such an incident. In the past, an IPL match between Gujarat Lions and Delhi Daredevils also witnessed a fan intervention. The Kanpur crowd, undoubtedly, one of the most competitive ODI matches in recent memory as New Zealand's determined batting took the match right up to the wire after India had posted a massive target of 338 runs. Eventually, the Kiwis lost the game and the series 2-1.
