Sachin Tendulkar has revealed that he could always see the hunger (to improve) and the fire (to become the best) in Virat Kohli’s eyes. The former Indian batsman has also asserted that a player can only improve and move further if he/she accepts his/her flaws and work on it.

Tendulkar, the all-time highest run scorer in Tests matches (15,291 runs from 200 matches), felt that the best quality that Virat Kohli possesses is his will to improve and the ability to identify and accept his flaws. The legendary batsman praised the current Indian skipper and hailed his work ethics.

The 45-year-old revealed that he could always see the hunger and fire to become the best player in Kohli’s eyes. He felt that Kohli’s eagerness to improve and the way he follows his routine make him the best. After a disappointing campaign in England in 2014, Kohli had gone to seen Tendulkar in order to get some help on how to improve his game.

“I could always see the hunger and fire in his eyes. The best part about him is that the moment he realises that there is a flaw, he immediately starts working on it in the nets,” Tendulkar was quoted as saying by Sky Sports.

Tendulkar further revealed that a player can only move forward if he/she accepts the flaws in his/her game and mentioned the positive mindset required to be able to do this.

“A player can only move forward if he/she accepts the mistakes and it takes a positive mindset to be able to accept and admit such things,” he added.
