India vs Australia | We need to be ‘bloody good’ against India, says Justin Langer

Justin Langer has revealed that his side need to be at their best against Virat Kohli & Co. and the home side needs to stick together like never before in the upcoming Test series. India will take on the Aussies in a four-match Test series that is scheduled to start on December 6 in Adelaide.

India have been regarded as favorites ahead of the upcoming Test series against Australia. In the absence of former captain Steven Smith and David Warner, the home team are certainly struggling to win matches. However, after drawing the T20I series 1-1, Australia have received a morale boost ahead of the crucial challenge that the Indians pose.

Justin Langer, who was appointed as the coach after the resignation of Darren Lehmann, reckons his side need to stick together for the remainder of the month like never before. The former Australia opener added that Tim Paine & Co. need to be ‘bloody good’ in order to beat the visitors.

"Be bloody good, not just at being the number one team in the world, be elite in values. Right at this moment, we need to stick together more than ever before," Langer told Fairfax Media.

Ever since Australian cricket suffered enormous setbacks following the ball-tampering bans on Steve Smith and Davis Warner, there has been a lot of discussion on the spirit of cricket. Langer reckons ‘winning’ has become a dirty word since the cultural review was released by CA officials.

"It's really important how the players behave on the field. I agree 100 per cent. It is very important. I said it since day one, there's no room for abusing people in anything we do on the cricket field You don't abuse people. It causes trouble. In Australian cricket, we're brought up to play really competitive cricket to try and win it. That can't be a dirty word, it can't be a bad thing," Langer said.
