Indian woman cricketer, Mansi Joshi, has played down rumors indicating that she has a problem with Ramesh Powar’s reinstatement as coach of the Indian women’s cricket team. In an e-mail to BCCI officials, Joshi claims that she was unnecessarily dragged into the whole issue without her knowledge.

The feud between Mithali Raj and Ramesh Powar seems to be a never-ending one as new reports keep popping up across various media outlets. The latest individual to comment on the whole issue is pacer - Mansi Joshi. Joshi, who was earlier mentioned in the in Mithali Raj’s letter to the BCCI, clarified that she was wrongfully mentioned in the letter and that she has nothing against the under-fire women’s team coach.

As per TOI reports in an e-mail to the BCCI, Joshi said, “Hi all, this is with regards to the information quoted in a PTI news report dated December 3, 2018 after the leaks of Harmanpreet Kaur and Smriti Mandhana's letters to the BCCI. This report states that ‘It's learnt that Ekta Bisht and Mansi Joshi are against his (Ramesh Powar's) reinstatement along with ODI captain Mithali. I am writing to you to deny this statement, and clarify that I have not said those words or anything to that effect to anyone in person or publicly. I have never endorsed my views on this whole matter to anyone and I fail to understand where this information could have come from."

Joshi, in fact, goes on to praise the efforts of Powar in helping improve the Indian team and also thanked him for his support. She concludes by saying that her name was ‘unnecessarily’ dragged into the whole drama between Raj and Powar.

“I have an amicable relationship with all my teammates as well as Ramesh sir and the support staff. I want to note here that I'm thankful to Ramesh sir and the support staff for giving me the confidence since my comeback into the team.

“My family, well-wishers, and more importantly, my coach are all really stressed with this appearing now in all the leading newspapers of the country and the fact that I'm being pulled into this unnecessarily. With this e-mail, I just wish to clarify my stance that I have not said anything on those lines, as stated in the above-mentioned report,” she concluded.
