VIDEO | Mitchell Marsh plays prank on umpire Chris Gaffaney to break into the first team
Among many folklores in Australia, the dominance of Marsh family in Western Australian cricket has a page of its own, hence when Mitchell Marsh was dropped for the Perth Test, he was quite expectantly upset. However, he didn’t lose his hope and tried pranking the umpire to bowl the first over.
This Test series between India and Australia has been a spectacular advertisement of the longest format of the game, but going by the India-Australia, it has surprisingly been a silent affair, apart from some odd banter by Rishabh Pant behind the stumps. And that’s exactly why the slightest banter between Tim Paine and Virat Kohli attained such high attention. If that was one instance that riled up the fans, another funny instance by Mitchell Marsh added some fun to the game.
After Jasprit Bumrah cleaned up Mitchell Starc to bring an end to Australia’s second innings, KL Rahul and Murali Vijay came to the centre of the wicket for India’s run-chase, and at the same time, Mitchell Marsh also came to the field, maybe as a substitute fielder for Aaron Finch.
However, he decided to play a small prank with the umpire and went straight to the bowling crease. Chris
