India vs Australia | Jasprit Bumrah will be the best bowler in the world, says Michael Clarke
Michael Clarke has predicted that Jasprit Bumrah will go on to become the best bowler in the world in coming times and praised the Indian pacer saying he does not let pressure bother him in any way. Bumrah currently ranks number 28th in the International Cricket Council Test bowlers ranking list.
On the third day of the third Test between India and Australia, a total of fifteen wickets fell out of which four were picked by Australian pacer Pat Cummins and six wickets by Indian fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah. Off the six wickets that were bagged by the lanky pacer, he got one just at the stroke of the lunch with a beautifully disguised slow yorker. Shaun Marsh was the victim of the slow yorker and was left befuddled by the delivery after regularly facing balls at over 140k/s. Bumrah's performance has attracted praise from former Australian captain Michael Clarke who prophesized that soon Bumrah will be the best bowler in the world.
“He must be a great guy to play with and to captain. He doesn’t mind the pressure or the expectations. He wants to learn and is a workhorse - not too long before he will become the best bowler in the world,” Clarke said to The Age.
On a different note, Australian batsmen could manage only 151 runs on the board in their first innings and were bundled in a little over two sessions. Australian team Assistant coach Brad Haddin has asserted that the fall of the Australian wickets could not be attributed to any other factor than players’ own lapse of concentration.
"I don't think the wicket has played a part in any of our dismissals, to be honest. There is a little bit of rough there for (Ravindra) Jadeja to be honest but nothing out of the ordinary. There have been a few concentration lapses that have cost us," he said.
