IPL 2018 | Sunil Narine's participation in IPL in doubt after suspect action report
Sunil Narine has been reported for suspect action once again while bowling in the Pakistan Super League matches and will now undergo an action test by Cricket West Indies. However, this incident has now raised questions about his chances of participation in the upcoming season of the IPL.
Ahead of the start of the upcoming season of the Indian Premier League, Windies spinner Narine faced a big blow when his bowling action was again reported during the PSL T20 tournament in the United Arab Emirates. Narine is playing for Lahore Qalandars and his name was placed on the warning list but can participate in the event.
“Narine has been reported for a suspected illegal bowling action during Wednesday’s PSL T20 game between Lahore Qalandars and Quetta Gladiators at Sharjah,” said a Pakistan Cricket Board statement as quoted by AFP.
Lahore Qalandars are out of the playoffs and the team will play their last match against Peshawar Zalmi in Sharjah on Friday.
“The match officials’ report on Narine’s bowling action will be sent to Cricket West Indies (CWI) and he will have to go through the process that is followed by the CWI, for suspected illegal bowling actions,” the statement said.
It was not the first time that the 29-year-old has faced suspect action problems after being first reported for an illegal action during the Champions League in 2014.
