Kuldeep Yadav, who ended the second ODI with figures 3/67 after 10 overs, revealed that it was difficult bowling to the West Indian batsmen in the latter stages of the second innings due to the dew on the pitch. Yadav heaped praise on Shimron Hetmeyer after he led his side to a hard-fought tie.

India fell to their second tie in an ODI in a month’s period after they were held to a draw against West Indies at the ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium in Visakhapatnam last night. After Virat Kohli led India to a formidable total of 321/6 from 50 overs, the Indians were the favourites to walk away with a win. However, a brilliant batting performance from Caribbean batsmen - Shai Hope (126*) and Shimron Hetmeyer (93) - ensured that the visitors recorded a total of 321/7 and ended the match in a tie.

And Indian wrist spinner Kuldeep Yadav revealed that it was hard to bowl in the latter stages of the second Innings due to the excessive dew on the pitch. Yadav ended with figures 3/67 after 10 having dismissed Marlon Samuels as well.

"It was very difficult to bowl in the dew, the square was quick and there the ball was wet. I was having difficulty gripping the ball. But you have to consider these situations, we need to practice a lot. Considering the situation they were in at one point when they were cruising, we are happy as a bowling unit. With the dew also there, I think we did a good job," Kuldeep told reporters at the post-match press conference.

The 23-year old heaped praise on Hetmeyer who was influential in guiding the visitors to a well-deserved draw. Previously, Yadav dismissed Hetmyer who had smashed a 78-ball 106 in the series opener and dismissed the batsman three times in the preceding two-match Test series.

"Hetmyer was playing brilliantly, it was very difficult to bowl to him. I was trying to contain him, was really on to him and trying to get him out. He was not comfortable against me but a couple of sixes he hit changed the course," Kuldeep added.
