Keaton Jennings: At the end of the day, I’m a happy and positive person

England opener Keaton Jennings was all optimistic about his current dip in form in the ongoing series win against India as he claimed that his happy and optimistic demeanor has helped him keep going. Jennings has scored 130 runs averaging 32.5 from the four matches he played in this series.

26-year old Keaton Jennings has not had the best of the series against Virat Kohli & Co. this year. Ater featuring in all the four Tests in the series so far, he just managed to score 130 runs at an average of 32.5 from four games. 

But, the Lancashire youngster sounded optimistic about his form and stressed that the conditions have been tough. Keaton insisted that a positive mental attitude has helped him deal with the disappointment on the field.

"Look I think, perspective is probably a big thing to realize that there’s a lot going outside cricket and focus on my life. At the end of the day, I’m a happy and positive person. So I think it would be wrong on myself to not go out and play that style of cricket.

"Hopefully, I feel they are two amazing places to tour and I thoroughly enjoyed those experiences. Look, Hopefully, I get some runs and stake a claim for myself in the squad. But first and foremost I want to win the Test match," Jennings said in an interview to Wisden.

The English opener also went on to talk about the national legend, Alastair  Cook, as he revealed his admiration and respect towards the retiring cricketer.

"Definitely, to have grown up watching such a legend, to have shared a changing room with him, to have opened the batting with him, is just really unique and really special in itself. It’s a huge moment for the rest of the guys as well to get the opportunity to see off such a legend. He’s an amazing man, an amazing cricketer and to get a chance to bid farewell is such a privilege to us.," added Jennings.
