In the clash of the table-toppers, Chennai Super Kings and Kolkata Knight Riders will go against each other in Chennai on Tuesday. While Chennai have been scampering through because of their team performance, Kolkata have been powered by Andre Russell to reach the top of the points table.

If there are two teams in the tournament so far, who have not only put up convincing displays in every match but also seized the important moments better than the other teams, they had to be Chennai Super Kings. While MS Dhoni has been the prime reason of CSK’s success, marshalling the squads in the right manner and guiding the spinners in the way only he can, Dinesh Karthik hasn’t been left far behind, with his shrewd tactics helping KKR big-time, especially in the middle-over trial by spin.

Another sub-plot that goes around is DK’s home return. Karthik has played all his cricket at Chepauk and knows the venue left, right, centre better than anyone else. While that may help the visitors, how much risk that CSK will take, if at all they prepare a spin-friendly wicket, considering Kolkata have Kuldeep Yadav, Sunil Narine, Piyush Chawla and a slower ball specialist in the form of Harry Gurney remains left to be seen.
