IPL 2020 Auction | Glenn Maxwell, Dale Steyn among seven players in 2 cr list
Glenn Maxwell, Chris Lynn and Dale Steyn are among the seven players who have registered themselves in the 2 cr base price auction list for the upcoming IPL auction, which is set to take place on December 19 in Kolkata. In total, 186 Indian players have found their names on the shortlist.
The BCCI have short-listed the auction list to 332 from the previously registered 991 players after getting the response from the franchises. The final list contains 186 Indian players, 143 overseas players and 3 players from Associate Nations. Australia, which is hosting the upcoming World T20, took maximum interest for the competition, with 35 players registering themselves for the auction. Australia are followed by South Africa (23) and England (22).
Among the players who will go under the hammer, there hasn't been a single player with a base price over 2 crores. Robin Uthappa, who was released by Kolkata Knight Riders earlier this year, is the Indian player with the highest base price - of Rs 1.5 Crore. Piyush Chawla, Yusuf Pathan and Jaydev Unadkat have set a base price of Rs 1 Crore each.
The likes of Eoin Morgan, Jason Roy, Chris Morris, Chris Woakes, Adam Zampa, Shaun Marsh, David Willey, Kane Richardson and Kyle Abbott have been shortlisted at Rs 1.5 Crore, while 20 overseas players have a base price of Rs 1 Crore.
After a long stint with Sunrisers Hyderabad, Deepak Hooda was released by the franchise and he attracted the highest base price of 40 lakh. Six uncapped overseas cricketers - Riley Meredith, Laurie Evans, Ben Dwarshuish, Cameron Delport, Benny Howell and James Fuller - are also a part of the Rs 40 lakh list while the likes of Varun Chakravarthy, Anureet Singh, Jalaj Saxena are among the five Indian players who have shortlisted themselves with a base price of Rs 30 lakh.
