West Indies all-rounder Keemo Paul has revealed that Kieron Pollard is an inspiration for many cricketers in West Indies due to the experience that he has in playing different leagues around the world. Pollard captained Windies brilliantly as they went down fighting 2-1 in T20I series versus India.

West Indies competed with India throughout the T20I series and made India earn the series victory and it was possible only due to some inspirational captaincy from Kieron Pollard. West Indies all-rounder Keemo Paul said that Pollard's experience has helped the team do well and also revealed that the all-rounder is an inspiration for the younger cricketers in the country.

“ is an inspiration for players around the world, especially in the Caribbean, so seeing him play in all these different leagues, and for West Indies especially, that is definitely a motivation [for me]," Paul told Sportstar.

West Indies are the defending champions of the T20 World Cup but that seems a long time ago as the side now has a completely new look with a lot of youngsters and just a few experienced pros like Jason Holder in the team alongside Pollard. Paul, however, is not thinking too much ahead of time as he believes it is important to go game by game than thinking about the mega event next year in Australia.

“It is just a process you know. It is trying to play one game at a time. We all want to improve and do well for West Indies so you know we are trying to train as hard as possible,” he asserted.

Another young batsman Shimron Hetmyer, spoke about how important the experience of playing on different pitches in India is and how the batsmen need to adapt on different surfaces in order to be successful.

“It is always nice playing in India. It is always a good place for the game. One can always look forward to playing against India in India. The pitches in India or rather some pitches, in some way, are similar," Hetmyer asserted

“It is sometimes a challenge as well — some pitches are better than the others. Like you know, the Wankhede now, is probably better and a little bit different than what we have here in Chennai. We have played with Afghanistan here and it always helps to play in different parts of different countries,” he further mentioned.
