India vs New Zealand | Rishabh Pant can take away games from opposition in no time, asserts Shikhar Dhawan
Shikhar Dhawan has heaped praise on India youngster Rishabh Pant who impressed in the historic 2-1 Test series win against Australia last month while calling him an ‘aggressive’ batsman. Dhawan went on to give an insight into his training drills which involved the use of a tennis ball.

However, in a recent interview with DNA, Dhawan revealed that one particular youngster who has impressed was Delhi-born wicketkeeper- bastman Rishabh Pant. The left-handed opener added that Pant singlehandedly has the ability to change the tide of the game.
"He is an aggressive batsman, an asset for the team, can take away games from the opposition in a very short time. I hope he grabs this opportunity (in T20s) with both hands," Dhawan told DNA.
Pant is turning out to be a real asset to the Indian team and recently impressed in the Test series against Australia as well. Pant was also recently adjudged as the ICC's Emerging Cricket of the Year. He was recalled to the T20I squad for the three-match series against New Zealand which will start on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, Dhawan also gave more insight into his recent outing in New Zealand during which he was not at his usual standard. The Delhi Capitals batsman added that he was working on improving his batting technique using some new variations in his exercises.
"I do tennis ball drills mostly for bouncers, for my muscle memory as well. I feel, if keep hitting the same shot, I get better at it. When facing bowlers or throwdowns, it is not possible to feed the ball in one place at all times, therefore, tennis ball practice comes in handy.
"But after you go back to facing the leather ball, it feels someone is throwing stones at you. Today while we were doing the tennis ball drill, we were also doing it to counter swing," Dhawan added.
