Yuvraj Singh heaped praise on former teammate MS Dhoni who impressed in the recent away series wins against Australia & New Zealand with the national team. Yuvraj added that Dhoni’s presence will be invaluable in the coming months as India prepare for the ICC ODI World Cup in England.

World Cup-winning captain, MS Dhoni, has hit top form once again as he helped the Indian team to a 2-1 ODI series win against Australia in January. The veteran Indian wicket-keeper was adjudged as man of the series against Australia and played a crucial order in the middle-order during the recent ODI series win against New Zealand as well.

Former India teammate and Mumbai Indians’ newest recruit, Yuvraj Singh, heaped praise on the Indian keeper who has proved his worth in the last few months.

"I think Mahi (Dhoni) has a great cricket brain. And as a wicket-keeper, you are in the best position to monitor the game and he has done that fantastically over the years. He has been a great captain. (He is) with the young players and guiding Virat (Kohli) all the time.

"So, I feel his presence is very important in decision-making. He had a fantastic tournament in Australia and it is good to see him hit the ball how he used to do, and I wish him all the best," the Indian all-rounder said in a recent interview with TOI.

Yuvraj, who was crowned as the player of the tournament in the 2011 ICC ODI World Cup, also spoke about 2019 Ranji Trophy winners - Vidarbha.

"They've got some great players like Wasim Jaffer and Umesh Yadav. They've an outstanding coach in Chandrakant Pandit who's definitely got the best out of the team. For a team which was nowhere, Vidarbha have suddenly won two Ranji Trophy titles in the past two years. So, its commendable how they've progressed as a team. I'm also impressed with how our domestic cricket is improving. It's not just the likes of Karnataka and Mumbai are dominating …the other teams are improving...sides like Vidarbha are beginning to dominate, Saurashtra and Gujarat have been playing really well too," Yuvraj added.
