When it comes to Bangladesh, trust them to mess things up without even knowing about it. Liton Das was well on course to pull one of his own, but they were saved from an embarrassment as the umpire told them the review time had been wasted and later the replays suggested that it was a clear LBW.
Tim Southee put Bangladesh’s run-chase in tatters within the space of two overs as after dismissing two batsmen in the first over of the match, Southee made sure that Bangladesh didn’t have any breather space to give a good account of themselves.
On the very first ball of the third over, Southee managed to take the ball back in after pitching on a good length. Liton Das was completely clueless in front of the delivery and was nowhere close to his front-foot stride when he tried to offer the shot. In the process, he was caught in the crease and as a result, he brought his bat down in an angle. The ball moved past the inside edge and it crashed into the front-pad, making Southee go for a confident appeal.

It saved Bangladesh big-time as the replays later suggested that the impact was in front of leg and would have been clipping the leg-stump. It was a decision clearly favoured the team as they also managed to keep a review for the latter half of the innings.
