Kolkata Knight Riders’ captain, Dinesh Karthik, revealed that the current squad with the additions of Carlos Brathwaite and Harry Gurney is a more complete team. The Kolkata-based franchise went all the way to the play-off stage where they lost to finalists Sunrisers Hyderabad by 14 runs.
Dinesh Karthik-led Kolkata Knight Riders were the surprise package last time out in the 2018-19 season of the Indian Premier League. The young team coached by Simon Katich narrowly missed out on a spot in the finals against CSK as they lost the play-off match to Sunrisers Hyderabad by a small margin of 14 runs.

Karthik, who scored 498 runs from 16 games last year, added that he has never “enjoyed setting goals” as he accepts his exclusion from the limited-overs team for the series against Australia.
