VIDEO | After Rishabh Pant anthem, Bharat Army dedicates two special songs for India’s first series win in Australia
After dedicating an anthem for Rishabh Pant’s heroics, Bharat Army created another special rap for India’s 2-1 series win in Australia. The fan club brought their band to the venue and performed a special rap which encapsulated India’s dominance in the series and people’s expectations from the team.
Fan culture is a very abstract thing in cricket, and unlike football, where clubs have their fans loyal to a fault until their last breath, cricket has never seen something like that. But, the time is changing and the dedicated fan club, however small, has been at the centre of bringing in a new revolution. One of the fantastic change that cricket is seeing now is the "anthem" that has often been the part of the footballing fan culture.
While Barmy Army could be credited for making Test cricket venues a fine spectacle with the help of band and music, Bharat Army took a cue from them and dedicated two special raps for India’s series win in Australia. As rain interrupted the game on the fifth day once again, denying India a chance to go 3-1 up in the series, Bharat Army took their team to perform a chant for India’s success in the series.
“Jeetega India, Yeh
Balle Balle Balle...”
After performing that song, they celebrated India’s tremendous success over the years. They reminded the world of Kapil Dev’s 1983 World Cup success and MS Dhoni’s team’s 2011 World Cup win. They expressed that they are proud of being an Indian cricket fan.
‘We’ve conquered all the world, we’re never gonna stop, from London down to Mumbai, we’ve won the bloody lot... With Kapil and Dhoni, World Cups and Test Glory, we're Kohli’s Bharat Army, and we’re proud to be desi..... Balle Balle Balle, Balle Balle Balle…”
