Mohammad Azharuddin has asserted that Hardik Pandya and KL Rahul have spoken a lot off the field and after the lifting of their suspensions, it’s time for their on-field performances to speak. The former India captain also mentioned that there was no need of going to the Supreme Court.

After the CoA lifted the suspensions on both Hardik Pandya and KL Rahul, which were handed over after the controversial “Koffee with Karan” episode was aired, the all-rounder will now join the Indian team and Rahul will play in the one-day games for India A against the England Lions. This is sigh of relief for the duo and Azharuddin is of the opinion that they have now the chance of leaving behind the past and performing  on the field.

"They (Pandya and Rahul) should feel very happy. It will now come out how tough they are mentally. They have to move on because it's all in the past. They have spoken enough but now their on-field performance should speak for them," Azharuddin told India Today.

Pandya had to face a lot of criticism after his recent comments on women made on the show where Rahul also shared the couch with the Baroda cricketer. The CoA had called back both players fromfrom the Australia Tour and replacements were named as well till the end of the enquiry. However, with delay in the proceedings for the appointment of an ombudsman, the CoA have now lifted the suspensions on the duo.

"COA should have appointed the ombudsman in the first place. There was no need to go to the Supreme Court. I don't think COA has done a very good job. Good for the team (that Pandya is likely to join India in New Zealand) - both boys have really suffered. They have unconditionally apologised. They (COA) should have taken the decision immediately. Hope the players do not do such things again," the former batsman asserted.
