ICC World Cup | India will definitely beat Pakistan in the upcoming World Cup, claims Varun Aaron
Varun Aaron has no doubts that India will defeat Pakistan when the two teams meet in the 2019 edition of the ICC ODI World Cup which will be held in England and is slated to start on May 30. Aaron further added that he is highly optimistic that the team can lift the WC trophy for the third time.
The prospect of India facing off against arch-rivals Pakistan is always a mouthwatering scenario for cricket lovers all across the globe. The India-Pakistan match is undoubtedly one of the biggest sporting rivalries of the last two decades or so. The recent socio-political tension between the two nations will only add to the whole buzz surrounding the tie as the two cricketing nations gear up to face-off against each other during the 2019 ICC ODI World Cup in England & Wales.
However, Varun Aaron talked down the India-Pakistan tie as he revealed that Virat Kohli & Co. will comfortably outplay their opponents due to technical superiority with ball and bat. The Rajasthan Royals bowler rather highlighted the importance of an India-Australia match if both teams qualify for the knockout stages.
"We have a much better team than Pakistan, there is no reason why we shouldn't win the match against Pakistan. I feel India has developed a fierce rivalry with Australia off late and the intensity of India-Australia matches are almost outdoing the intensity of India-Pakistan matches. The rivalry between India and Pakistan will always be there, but the match to look out for will be the India-Australia one," Aaron told ANI.
The 29-year old further talked about India’s chances of going the distance in the upcoming World Cup as he said that Virat Kohli’s squad has ample talent in the batting as well as bowling department to win the country it’s third ICC ODI World Cup trophy.
"I feel we have one of the best chances of winning the World Cup with the side we have. We've got an unbelievable batting lineup and our bowlers have been great of late. All the players have experience in the overseas conditions so I don't think anyone should have questions. Our bowling line-up is a varied line-up. You got Bhuvi who can swing the bowl, Bumrah can bowl really at the front and in the death, Shami bowls with great speed and I really hope they win the Cup back.
"Dhoni is the most accomplished captain that India has ever had. I am glad that Virat has Dhoni in his ranks who can give him advice. Dhoni marshalling the troops from behind will play a crucial role in the upcoming World Cup," Aaron, who has represented India in nine ODI’s, added.
