The Feroz Shah Kotla stadium in Delhi will see the unveiling of the new stand named by District Cricket Association (DDCA) after India captain Virat Kohli. While the auspicious occasion will be held on Thursday, the entire team will be there to witness the moment in the honour of their skipper.

The visiting South Africa team have already arrived in India and will play a three-match T20I series under newly-appointed captain Quinton de Kock. This will be the team's first venture since their disappointing exit from the ICC Cricket World Cup. The tour will start with the first T20I on Sunday, at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium in Dharamshala. But before moving to Dharmasala, the team will gather up in Delhi to witness the unveiling of the Virat Kohli stand at the Feroz Shah Kotla, according to a BCCI official.

"The boys will be there when DDCA unveils the stand in Kohli's name. The boys are assembling in the capital on Thursday before heading to Dharamsala on Friday," a senior BCCI functionary said, according to TOI.

The hosts, who have just come back from a long tour of the Caribbean, have rested Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Shami, and Bhuvneshwar Kumar, and meanwhile all-rounder Hardik Pandya who was rested for the West Indies tour is back in the team.

The three-match T20I series will be followed by three Tests, starting on October 2, played between the two teams and with it South Africa begin their campaign in the World Test Championship.
