Just as we thought there is nothing to smile for Indian supporters in what turned out to be a disastrous day as India ended their innings on 9/36, Saha sent back Wade in what was a freak dismissal. This was one of the highlights for both Saha and Shaw in the game as they struggled in the game.
There are times when no matter how hard you try, nothing comes off even the things you are best at. Saha had exactly that kind of game. He misjudged a catch running back despite being no less than a superman with the gloves yesterday. There was a catch which dipped on him off Marnus. He only posted scores of 9 and 4 with the bat. There was nothing going for him in the Test. So was the case for Prithvi Shaw as his poor technique became the talk of the town. In fact, their selections in this Test was also controversial. So in short, it was as bad a game as it gets for both the players.
However, just as the Adelaide Test was approaching towards the end came a moment of happiness for both Saha and Shaw as they combined to get rid of Wade, who was attacking Indian bowlers for fun to add salt to their injury. So, on the bowling Ashwin, Wade came down the track. The Indian off-spinner who never forgets to keep an eye on the non-striker batter was the last one to miss out on what the batter on strikes was up to.
As soon as he realized that, he fired the pink-cherry on to his feet. Now, somehow, only god and Wade know better, the latter clipped it straight into Shaw's leg, who was stationed at the short leg. Now, in a bizarre manner, the ball rolled quickly off Shaw towards Saha, who then spotting quickly that Wade was out of the crease, in a no-look Dhoni-esque manner aimed at the stumps to catch Wade out of the crease and helped India get their first wicket after what was a poor bowling performance in the fourth innings.
