Over time, cricket has evolved into a bustling sport, with globalization bringing numerous rule changes. As an athlete, it is not always easy to get used to the constant amendments as was the case with perplexed  KL Rahul failing to assist Rohit Sharma as Sri Lanka played India in the first ODI.

Winning the toss and electing to field first under overcast conditions, the Sri Lankan openers Avishka Fernando and Pathum Nissanka faced a tough time facing the new ball attack of Mohammed Siraj and Arshdeep Singh. The former drew the first blood before Shivam Dube as the second-change bowler removed Kusal Mendis in the fourteenth over. Two balls later, the bowler and the keeper were seen befuddled when the umpire denied their appeal of catching chance.

Dube came over the wicket and bowled a length delivery down the leg stump that Nissanka tried to flick. While wicketkeeper Rahul and bowler Dube appealed for a caught-out chance, the onfield umpire denied the decision. Subsequently, the all-rounder gestured for a review but Rahul was heard inquiring if the rule of reviewing a wide persisted in international cricket. While he was unsure of a caught-out chance, the stump mic caught the discussion between captain Rohit and keeper Rahul where the latter said,” IPL wala rule hai kya” (Is the IPL rule applicable here?). With Rohit, Rahul, and Virat Kohli returning to the Indian contingent after a break, the Twitterverse enjoyed the stump mic classic. This is hilarious
