Renowned cricketer in the Indian domestic setup, Mandeep Singh announced his departure from the Punjab Cricket Association via social media post. He is all set to represent the Tripura Cricket Team for the upcoming domestic season after serving the North Indian state for 14 long years.

Having won the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy as a captain for Punjab in the 2023-24 season, Mandeep is all set for ‘new beginnings’ with Tripura Cricket Association. He scored 6448 runs from 99 First Class matches at an average reading 47.76. The 32-year-old has also piled up over 3500 runs in the T20 and List A format each.

"I have had the most amazing journey at PCA from junior level all the way to senior level whilst also having the best fortune of being the Winning Captain of the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy for 2023-2024. However, after a lot of deliberation, I think it's time for me to open a new chapter in my career. I have decided that now is the right time to go ahead and play cricket for Tripura in the upcoming domestic season."

The Jalandhar-born batter also acknowledged the constant support from PCA, Harbhajan Singh, and Yuvraj Singh throughout his tenure with the State side.

“I want to extend my appreciation to Dilsher Khanna, secretary of PCA, Yuvraj Singh and Harbhajan Singh, for their constant support throughout the years. I would also like to thank the members of PCA Management and to the staff that have been by my side over the years," he further added.

Besides Mandeep, Jiwanjot Singh, who represented Punjab and Uttarakhand in his domestic career will be a part of Tripura for the upcoming season. The duo is likely to bolster the Northeastern  after Wriddhiman Saha’s move back to Bengal.
