The margins are as slim as they get in the IPL where elite professional athletes are lurking at every opportunity to punish any minuscule error. Virat Kohli was sharp on his feet at the Chinnaswamy to end Shahrukh Khan's knock and his feat earned the veteran some serious plaudits from Cameron Green.

Gujarat Titans struggled to contend with an atypical Bengaluru pitch in their encounter against Royal Challengers Bengaluru on Saturday and were left reeling at 19/3 in the powerplay after being asked to bat first. Nevertheless, David Miller and Shahrukh Khan showcased exemplary stroke-making abilities to stitch together a 61-run partnership off just 37 deliveries before the Proteas departed in the 12th over to leave his Indian counterpart in charge of proceedings. However, it was not to be for the young explosive batter as some schoolboy running combined with Virat Kohli's exemplary fielding ended his stay for 37 off 24 deliveries in the 14th over.

The 28-year-old was at the non-striker's end when Rahul Tewatia dabbed a Yash Dayal delivery with soft hands behind the crease and took a couple of steps forward anticipating a single. Sensing a chance, Virat Kohli came charging in from backward point thus causing the Haryana batter to stop in his tracks even though Shahrukh had already sprinted halfway down the track. Yet, given the distance Kohli had to cover, there was still ample time for Shahrukh to recover, but he squandered the opportunity with a sluggish turn while keeping his eyes honed on the ball instead of maximizing his running. Kohli did not let the chance slip by slinging a rapid one-handed throw that flattened the middle stump and caught the batter comfortably short of the white line.

Kohli was ecstatic with his effort and immediately wheeled away his celebration as his teammates chased him. Grene, meanwhile, scrunched his face and nodded at his teammate in appreciation of the 35-year-old's agile antics, sending Twitterati into a frenzy.
