In cricket, while the laws are generally adhered to, occasional errors do occur. This was evident in the game between Chennai Super Kings and Royal Challengers Bengaluru when Lockie Ferguson bowled two beamers against Chennai Super Kings and remained on the field, contrary to the MCC code of law.

ā€ŒThe visitors had a rough start when their in-form skipper, Ruturaj Gaikwad, was dismissed in the first over of CSKā€™s innings. After Daryl Mitchellā€™s departure in the third over, Rachin Ravindra and Ajinkya Rahane built a solid 66-run partnership, taking the CSK score to 85/2 in nine overs. However, Lockie Ferguson shone with the ball, claiming the crucial wicket of Ajinkya Rahane in the ninth over. He then bowled a beamer to Rachin Ravindra in the following over, which was edged for a boundary towards fine leg.

As the Chennai innings progressed after Ravindra's departure and the quick dismissals of Shivam Dube and Mitchell Santner, all eyes were on Mahendra Singh Dhoni and Ravindra Jadeja to lead the chase. However, a notable error occurred when Ferguson was allowed to continue the 19th over after bowling two beamers.Ā

On the first ball of the 19th over, the Kiwi pacer bowled a dangerous beamer to Dhoni, which was called a no-ball as it was above the waistline. He did a similar against Ravindra when an intended knuckle ball missed the radar. Despite this, the match officials made a mistake by not suspending Ferguson after he bowled his second beamer of the game, allowing him to continue bowling.

As per MCC Law 41.7, if a bowler bowls two beamers, they're immediately removed from the attack by the bowler's end umpire and suspended from bowling again in that innings. Seeing this, Twitterverse quickly respond to the incident and discussed about it.
