Some players dare to push the boundaries in Test cricket and show fearless intent and a knack for taking risks. Such was the case on the first day of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy where the Indian batting lineup faced early setbacks, but Rishabh Pant rose to the occasion with his trademark aggression.

‌India endured a shaky start with the top order collapsing as Yashasvi Jaiswal, Devdutt Padikkal, and Virat Kohli fell early. KL Rahul offered some respite with a composed 26 off 74, but further setbacks came with poor contributions from Dhruv Jurel and Washington Sundar, leaving India struggling at 73/6. Amid the chaos, Nitish Kumar Reddy held one end steady, while Rishabh Pant lit up the game with a stunning six off Pat Cummins.

On the last ball of the 42nd over, Cummins delivered a fuller ball around the off stump. Instead of opting for a conventional push toward mid-on or mid-off, Pant displayed his audacity. He got inside the line and scooped the ball effortlessly over the long-leg boundary for a six. The well-executed sweep-scoop shot had him losing balance and nearly falling into the stumps, but the result was spectacular. Fans erupted in celebration as Pant registered the game’s first six, with Twitter abuzz, applauding his boldness.
