In a heart-warming news for the Indian fans, Virat Kohli and KL Rahul are all set to participate in the upcoming Ranji Trophy round starting January 30. The former missed Delhi’s previous game while the latter has been named in Karnataka’s squad for their upcoming match against Haryana.

It has been learned that Kohli was training with Sanjay Bangar in Alibaug, a coastal city of Maharashtra. The 36-year-old was participating in an intense training session for a week, to get his technique correct after a below-par series down under where he scored just 190 runs in nine innings. The former Indian captain has confirmed his availability in the squad for their next fixture against Railways after missing out on the previous one citing a neck injury.

Meanwhile, Karnataka, who will be up against Haryana in a do-or-die fixture, has named Rahul in their squad. The wicketkeeper-batter had a topsy-turvy series against Australia, ending as the third-highest run-getter for the Men in Blue.

If Rahul participates in the upcoming fixture at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, this will mark his first presence for the State team in five years. He was a part of the 2019/20 semi-final against Bengal at the Eden Gardens. This would also mean that the South Indian state will be able to field a full-strength unit against Haryana, with the likes of Devdutt Padikkal and Prasidh Krishna already in the squad.

Delhi are positioned fifth in the Group D league table with 14 points whereas Karnataka are placed third in the Group C points table with 19 points.
