CSK vs RCB | Twitter erupts as Dhoni's towering sixes in a row make Krunal’s bouncer and the last-minute second new ball look foolish!

The competition in a multi-team tournament can be crazy with a solid team performance served on the plate. MS Dhoni showed that he still has it with the blade after smacking towering sixes in a 16-run final over, making Krunal Pandya and Royal Challengers Bengaluru's last-minute tactics look silly.

Winning the toss and choosing to field first backfired initially for the home side as Ruturaj Gaikwad's bowlers were ripped apart inside the first four overs to set up a 56-run powerplay. Although the CSK bowlers scalped wickets on periodic cases, they were not able to curb the visitors below par. Eyeing to chase down 197 runs in 20 overs, the Yellow Army got off to a shaky start, losing three wickets inside a 30-run powerplay. With wickets following in the middle overs, the wounds deepened before Dhoni rubbished RCB’s silly tactics in the last over and gave the CSK fans reasons to breathe.

CSK required 67 runs off the last over when they decided to take the second new ball to minimise the dew factor. Practically, the game was done and dusted, but Krunal Pandya’s quick bouncer to Dhoni on the second ball of the over sparked some fierce reactions from the batter. The next ball, bowled in the slot, was dispatched over deep mid-wicket by Dhoni, resulting in his first maximum of the season. Not learning from his error, Krunal pitched another fuller one to the former CSK captain, who smacked a gigantic six over deep mid-wicket again. The couple of sixes seemed like a reaction to Krunal’s bumper, causing a Twitterverse frenzy.
