‌MI vs KKR | Twitter reacts to Russell nodding head after Suryakumar escapes mistimed supla with top-edge

Andre Russell ran out of luck againsr Suryakumar Yadav in the cricket match at Wankhede.

It’s a tough pill to swallow when the hard work does not pay dividends. Luck may play a part here, as it flew with Suryakumar Yadav in an execution of the supla stroke against Andre Russell, who was vividly unhappy during the twelfth encounter of the ongoing 2025 Indian Premier League.

Fielding first during the toss seemed to be the secret behind the Mumbai Indians’ win over the Kolkata Knight Riders in their third assignment of the tourney. Trent Boult, Deepak Chahar, and Ashwani Kumar were stupendous with the ball, with the latter’s four-for on IPL debut curbing the defending champions to 116. In reply, Ryan Rickelton’s 64 paved the way for the chase with Surya’s cameo, eased with luck easing the chase.

The five-time champions were twenty runs ahead of KKR at the halfway mark before Surya seemed unfettered by Will Jacks’ wicket in the same over. He shuffled across the line to hit a supla shot off a widish length delivery from Russell on the last ball of the over. However, the ball skittled off the top edge and went over the fine leg boundary cushions for a six. Seeing the luck run against KKR, Russell was left in smiles and nodding his head in disappointment, prompting a Twitterverse discourse.
