Jasprit Bumrah’s epic reply has Twitter in splits after Mohammad Kaif takes potshots at pacer

Jasprit Bumrah has been sharp, be it with the ball on the field or with the words off it, and Mohammad Kaif found that out the hard way. The former Indian cricketer tried to take potshots at the pacer with some unwarranted comments on Twitter before being shown his place with an epic reply.

‌Jasprit Bumrah’s workload management has been under the spotlight right from the time he returned from injury earlier this year during the Indian Premier League. After a recurring back injury saw him walk off the fifth and final Test against Australia in January, the pacer featured in only three of the five Tests during the England tour.

Now, with the two-Test home series against West Indies starting just three days after the final of the Asia Cup T20 2025 on September 28, the topic is once again doing the rounds. Former Indan player and U19 World Cup winning captain Mohammad Kaif went to the extent of quoting that the pacer is trying to protect himself from injury.

Kaif mentioned that the pacer, earlier, spread his four overs through all phases of the match, but now bowls three of his overs in the powerplay. He added that Bumrah was trying to protect his body from injury by bowling the majority of his overs when he was warmed up.

Kaif was concerned that this new strategy would leave sides with one over from the pacer out of the remaining 14 overs, and the top sides would take advantage of this in the upcoming T20 World Cup. But Bumrah was quick to shoot back with a sharp statement as he wrote Kaif off with the words “Inaccurate before, inaccurate again.”

Since the Asia Cup was happening on the slow and turning wickets in the United Arab Emirates, India went with three spinners and Bumrah as their sole specialist pacer in most of the matches. And the team management decided to bowl three of his overs in search of wickets with the new ball before the spinners could take over.

Twitter was impressed as Bumrah treated Mohammad Kaif’s inaccurate comments with disdain.
